VeggieTales: The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps – Silly Song

And now it’s time for Silly Songs with Larry, The part of the show where Larry comes out and sings a silly song. Mmmmmmmm… There lived a man so long ago his memory’s but faint, Was not admired, did not inspire, like president or saint. But people came from far and near with their afflicted pets For a special cure they knew for sure wouldn’t come from other vets. Woah…. This is a song for your poor, sick penguin. He’s got a fever, and his toes are blue. But if I sing to your poor, sick penguin, He will feel better in a day or two. [yodeling] He’s gone a little loopy, in case you haven’t heard. Here’s a couple penicillin for your sickly arctic bird. Mmmmmmmmmm… No skeptic could explain just how, nor could one oft rebut The wondrous deeds that went on in that little alpine hut. Some would stand in silence while some just scratched their scalps For the curious ways of the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps. Woah…. Good news on the penguin, doc! He’s up and kicking! This is a song for your pregnant kitty. She’s looking nauseous and a week past due. But if I sing to your pregnant kitty, She will feel better in a day or two. [yodeling] Jump in your car, drive into the city. Buy a jug of milk for your nauseated kitty. Mmmmmmmmmm… The practice grew, their profits flew, until one fateful day, When the nurse who did assist the doc asked for a raise in pay. The doctor pondered this a while, sat back, and scratched his scalp, Then said: No way, Jose! To the nurse of the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps. Woah…. Good news on the kitty, doc. She’s feeling great. Six kittens, named one after you. [ROAR!] This is a song for your bear-trapped teddy. He looks uncomfy, think I’d be too. But if I sing to your bear-trapped teddy, He will feel better in a day or two. [yodeling] [ROAR!] Oh, yeah. That’ll work. He’s good. [yodeling] No, wait! This should work! [panicked yodeling] Mmmmmmmmm… Now, the moral of our story, it’s the point we hope we’ve made: When you go a little loopy, better keep your nurse well-paid. [panicked yodeling] Woah! Some would stand in silence while some just scratched their scalps For the curious ways of the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps.

So… I didn't realize this when I was a kid, but at the end of the song, the nurse basically lets the bear attack the doctor as revenge for not getting him a raise.

For VeggieTales, that's DARK.

the bear part was so funny to me when I saw it as a kid. Also for some reason I thought there was scene where the bear was chasing him outside up the hill and i thought all these years the place where the veggie where singing was inside of a cabin.

IF YOU GO A LITTLE LOOPY BETTER KEEP YOUR NURSE WELL-PAID

It’s amazing to me how many of these lyrics completely flew over my head as a kid

Some just stood in silence while some just scratched their scalps, at the curious ways of the yodeling vetranarian of the Alps. Best part of the song.

Whoever voices Larry is a talented singer…As a singer myself, I can say these songs are hard to sing.

Anyone else, especially those who watched this as a kid when its episode first came out, rewatch it as an adult suddenly feel that this is one of the darkest silly songs to ever have silly songed?

I can't thinking about this song, The Stuff Mart Rap, Yo Ho Heros (From the Pirates who don't do anything movie) and Barabra Manatee (you are the one for me). Love Silly Songs !!

The scallion on the far right is the Milk Money Bandit from Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed. Also, the three scallions are the bandits who attacked Larry in Flibber-O-Loo

I love Doctor Larry the Cucumber
Because He to took care of the wild animals in the silly song with Larry
Please Married Me I Don't Mind me
