My top 5 Billy Joel songs
5. New York State of mind
4. She always a woman to me
3. Only good die young
2. Uptown Girl
1. For the longest time

@ 1:10 He sounded more "London" with that accent than "Londoners" have sounded in many years. Well done Billy. 🙂

my top 5 from billy joel :1 james 2 stranger 3 piano man 4 new york state of mind and she's always a woman to me.

Angry Young Man is my favorite. Closely followed by James, She’s Always a Woman, and New York State of Mind.

"..in the year 2000…" Am I watching Stephen O'Brien? ..or Conan Colbert? "True stories behind the hits" is Stephen Colbert; imitating someone funny ..Conan O'Brien.

"Until the Night" because its sensuous without being x-rated and "Sleeping with the televison on" because of it's interesting lyrics.. "Get it right the first time" because, well, I just find it quirky and cute.

The legend. Piano Man is an experience that most of us grown men have actually experienced at one time or another in our lives. Thanks for posting.

Hahaha… The reason why he isn't making any more music is because his love died for music because of a woman, and he made a promise to himself. Crazy ass New York blood bastard keeps his promises, see?!
Oh and if he would just cut down on his drinking and abusing his body, he could look ten years younger in one year. The guys needs to get a grip and start remembering why he began making music in the first place. If you buy his shallow excuses, you are partly to blame.

So…. Just saying… To start by quoting his words, quoting one of the top 2 for me "if I only had the words to tell you, if you only had the time to understand" … Top 5 doesn't apply to this man's career. For me I would suggest picks for top 5 by album, by time period, by theme, topic, and genre/ style. Such a way, life changing and beautiful way about his talent. There are so many beautiful compositions, lyric, and arrangements that he is responsible for giving us. We love you Billy Joel. Note to all- please listen to his Albums (not just the greatest hits ). So eclectic and awesome is Billy Joel.

I saw Billy’s drummer do a drum clinic in Richmond,an inner city part of Melbourne,Victoria,Australia and after the clinic which was fantastic,he brought on his whole band, backing singers, musicians and Billy and they then played a few Led Zep covers and some Billy Joel numbers, only about 100 in the room,I was glad I turned up.

An Innocent Man would have to be amongst my five favourites by BJ 😊 and I like that “Leningrad” tune too 😊

Really, PIANOMAN, ROCKETMAN AND TAMBOURINEMAN vs Mr. Bo Jangles as an evil megamind (maybe he wants to outlaw dancing), is a movie I'd buy theatre tickets to see. Maybe Billy should rethink this idea, lol. I'm down for that.

Billy Joel was banging Ellen McPherson and Christie Brinkley. In the eighties he was banging em all. My list:
5 through the long night
4 Capt jack
3 Vienna
2 Anthony's song
1 scenes from an It Rest

Your only human, goodnight saigon, New York state of mind, scenes from a Italian restaurant, and ballet of billy the kid

I'm that one kid that starts singing We Didn't Start the Fire during school, and all the other millennials think I'm crazy because they don't know any songs or artists that came before 2013.

For me it's
1. She's always a woman
2. Vienna
3. The Longest Time
4. Piano Man
5. Scenes from an Italian Restaurant

Stephen Colbert: Elton John says you should put out more albums.
Billy Joel: Yeah and I told him he should put out less albums.
